There are two LIKELY causes. At some point, probably when you were in the growth stage of your life, you may have done something that caused a minor shift in your spine. As kids and teenagers, we are active and typically bounce back from injuries - or so we think. More often than not, those little injuries have left behind minor shifts or displacements. If those minor shifts or displacements are not corrected, they eventually progress - usually without pain until later in life. You may have heard the expression, ‘As the twig is bent, so grows the tree,’ - well, if you think about that expression, it contains a lot of truth. The second cause is related to repetitive behaviors, like flexing your neck forward to read a text, check your social media post or change a music selection.People who sit a lot, as an example, progressively shift their spines out of alignment - thus leading to a large variety of problems. A new study was just published showing that correcting the Atlas (the top bone in your spine) can change the way your jaw moves. This is the first evidence in a published journal that helps explain why we have success working with patients with jaw pain and  TMJ disorders (temporo mandibular joint disorders) and is also a reason why I try to connect with the best dentists on the Sunshine Coast In short terms; the paper describes changes that can occur to dental occlusion following chiropractic Structural Correction intervention . This case controlled study discerned if occlusion changes are measurable using a dental force plate (T-Scan®) following an adjustment to the craniocervical junction (CCJ), the joint between your skull and the first bone of your spine. They found  that changes in posture and occlusion can be observed in some patients after the chiropractic procedure and that the findings may suggest interconnectivity between the CCJ and an individual’s occlusal contacts. They destroy spines. There are two companies that USED TO purchase their underlay foam from the best resource in China…one that is certified with respect to not using any toxic in their mattresses. TempurPedic and Classic (This underlay was very firm). About 4 years ago, in an effort to please the American consumer, TempurPedic stopped using firmer foam and moved to an inferior product (when they revised their line). The CLASSIC 8″ has 6 inches of the firm foam, with 2″ of a slightly softer foam on top. If you order from Amazon, a King is $265.00. It comes rolled up (vacuum sealed) in plastic and in a box. This is the best mattress out there (the Black Line Alexa is also nice) IF YOU are going to be spending 1/4 to 1/3 of  YOUR day on a mattress, then it only makes sense to use the best mattress out there.
